WHITE PINE AWARD MEETING
Next award meeting - Nov. 16, 2024 @ 1:00 pm
Location - Elmvale Legion, 7 John St.
Our speaker this year is Elliott Groen, the OWA's Sustainable Forest Coordinator. He will discuss the Private Land Silviculture and Restoration Program (PLSRP) which expands on the lessons learned during the Forest Owners' Cooperative Pilot Project.
Elliott will outline the objectives of PLSRP sharing insights from work occurring in the Kawarthas, funding applications and plans to expand the program into the Huronia region.

2023 White Pine Award Winner
Sandy Agnew lives on the Scarlett Line in Oro Medonte. Sandy has an extensive background with various environmental causes in Simcoe County and has been on the boards of many conservation and environmental organizations. He is a managed forest plan approver and active member of the Huronia chapter participating in our Forest Co-op pilot project and hosting this year's Fall Field Day.
In 2008 Sandy and his partner Lynne Malnik established a Conservation Easement on their property, working with the Couchiching Conservancy to register their property for perpetual protection.
